HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 05, 2026: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have trapped Ranga Reddy District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr Swarna Kumari along with a Health Inspector and a private person for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh for doing an official favour on Monday.
Official sources said that the DMHO, along with Health Inspector M Srinivas and the private driver of Health Inspector M Krishnaiah, have demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs from the complainant for doing an official favour of reopening the seized physiotherapy centre. Taking undue advantage for not taking any further action against the centre for operating without DMHO licence, and also for issuing a new DMHO licence, and also issuing a new licence for the said physiotherapy centre.
The complainant subsequently approached the ACB, following which officials laid a trap and caught her while accepting the amount. ACB teams also carried out searches at the District Medical and Health Office in Shivarampally following the trap. The bribe amount of Rs one lakh was recovered from the accused and produced before the ACB court in Nampally.
