ACB traps Irrigation Assistant Engineer for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor

PEDDAPALLI, NOVEMBER 25, 2024: Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have trapped an Assistant Engineer working in the Irrigation department for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor for doing official favour in the open public premises in Peddapalli town on Monday.

Sources said that Assistant Engineer Narsinga Rao working at the office of Executive Engineer of Irrigation department had demanded the bribe from the contractor for the clearance of bill. The contractor approached the ACB, who waylaid and trapped the AE for accepting the bribe amount in the open place in the town. The ACB officials lead by DSP Ramana Murthy had shifted the accused officer to his office and investigating. The accused would be produced before the ACB court in Karimnagar town.
