ACB court sentences Agriculture Dept official to undergo four years rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 23, 2024: Karimnagar SPE and ACB special cases court judge Kumar Vivek on Thursday sentenced Agricultural department Senior Assistant Annareddy Pranavender Reddy to undergo four years rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 6,000 in a bribery case.

The ACB officials trapped the accused officer for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a businessman D Srinivas for the issuance of licence and forward the application to the Assistant Director to open a fertilizer shop in Velichala village of Ramadugu mandal in the year 2013. Pranavender demanded the complainant D Srinivas to pay a bribe for forwarding the file to secure licence to sell fertilizers.  The complainant approached the ACB, who trapped red handed while accepting the bribe amount.

Karimnagar ACB DSP VV Ramana Murthy appealed to the people to approach the ACB by dialing 9154388954 if they government employees demand bribe for doing their official duties. He said that the information of the informers would be kept confidential.
