Three-day Hanuman jayanthi celebrations begins on a religious note at Kondagattu temple shrine

JAGTIAL, MAY 30, 2024: The three-day Hanuman jayanthi celebrations got off to a religious start at Sri Anjaneya Swamy devasthanam in Kondagattu of Jagtial district on Thursday.

On this occasion, as part of ritual, the temple priests and authorities from Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy devasthanam, Badrachalam have presented silk vastrams to the presiding deity of Kondagattu shrine. Amid cultural programmes, kolatam, oggu dolu, drum beats, the silk vastrams were bought in procession to the temple shrine by festival officer and Rajanna-Sircilla temple EO Ramakrishna, Secunderabad Ganesh temple EO Vinod Reddy and Badrachalam EO L Ramadevi presented the vastrams.

Later, the temple priests performed the traditional rituals such as yaga shuddhi, punya havanam, Ankurarpana, akanda deepasthapana, Swasti vaachanam, abhishekams etc. With the temple authorities expecting several thousands of devotees to the temple shrine during the three day festivities, they were taking all measures to ensure smooth darshan for the devotees.

The holy tank was cleaned and fresh water was added and the sanitation was being maintained round the clock by deploying over 200 sanitation workers to work in three shifts. The temple authorities had also made arrangements for the supply of drinking water at 20 locations at the temple shrine. Besides, the annadanam would also arranged for the devotees by various departments and voluntary organisations.

The authorities had also made arrangements for providing free bus services from the parking place to the temple shrine. The health department had set up medical camps at six locations for the benefit of devotees.

The authorities have set up special counters for the purchase of prasadams and other tokens for tonsuring of heads. The police have made unprecedented security by deploying additional police forces and monitoring the situation by installing CCTV cameras.
