Tholi Ekadasi: Heavy pilgrims rush at temples in integrated Karimnagar district

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 17, 2024: All the temples in the integrated Karimnagar district witnessed heavy devotees rush on the auspicious ‘Tholi Ekadasi’ festival on Wednesday.

There was heavy pilgrims rush at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada of Rajanna-Sircilla district. Several thousands of pilgrims from far-flung places arrived at the temple from Sunday evening onwards and offered prayers to the presiding deities on Monday by forming serpentine queues after taking holy dip in Dharmagundam.

The temple authorities also decorated the temple for the festival. The devotees competed in performing the rituals of ‘Abhishekam’ and ‘Kode Mokku’ (tying of an ox) at the temple. The priests performed special pujas on the occasion of the festival. There were continuous 24-hour bhajan programmes for the benefit of pilgrims.

Government Whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas visited the temple and offered prayers to the presiding deities. The temple authorities accorded traditional welcome and presented him with shawl and prasadam. On this occasion, Mr Srinivas said that he had prayed for the bountiful rains and help farmers reap riches with good crops.

JAGTIAL: Devotees arrived in large numbers at Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy devasthanam in Dharmapuri of the district as part of Tholi Ekadasi celebrations. The devotees took holy dip in the river Godavari and offered prayers to the presiding deities.

Similarly, the pilgrims had arrived in large numbers to offer prayers at Koti Lingalala in Velgatoor mandal, Sri Kaleshwara Muktheeshwara swamy devasthanam in Kaleshwaram and other temples in the integrated Karimnagar district.
