KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 06, 2025: The Karimnagar Film Society has announced the annual KaFiSo Visista Mahila Puraskar Awards 2025 to three eminent women personalities, viz eminent writer Thangella Sridevi Reddy, eminent singer Gotte Kanakavva and classical dancer Gutha Naga Durga.
In a statement here on Thursday, Karimnagar Film Society president Ponnam Ravichandra and secretary Laxmi Gautham said that the Visista Puraskars would be presented on the occasion of Women’s Day on March 8 at Film Bhavan in Karimnagar town.
Thangella Sridevi, a native of Athmakur in the integrated Palamuru district, is a popular Telugu writer and novelist. She had written several songs on traditional festivals of Telangana such as Bathukamma and Bonalu etc. Her poems were used in the ‘Dorasani’ Telugu feature film. She had won several awards including Keerthi Puraskaram from Telugu University.
Gotte Kanakavva, a native of Bodigipalli village of Akkannapet mandal in Siddipet district, learned the art of singing traditional folk songs along with her mother while participating in the agricultural activities of planting paddy saplings etc. She had emerged as a YouTube folk star and acted in some of Telugu feature films.
Gutha Naga Durga, a native of Nalgonda district, established a dance college and performed several thousands of dance shows. She is also a YouTube sensation.
