CM supports Venkaiah Naidu’s candidature for President of India

Felicitates Padma Award winners of Telugu speaking states in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 04, 2024: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has projected the candidature of former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu for the post of President of India citing his distinguished political career.

Participating in the felicitation programme fo Padma award winners organsied by the department of Language, Culture and Tourism at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on Sunday, the Chief Minister said M Venkaiah Naidu, the winner of Padma Vibhushan was the pride of Telugu people and he should occupy the post of President of the country. He also showered praises on Megastar Chiranjeevi, who also selected for Padma Vibhushan award by the Union government.

The Chief Minister honoured Padma awardees Darshanam Mogilaiah, A Velu Ananda Chari, Gaddam Sammaiah, Kethavath Somlal, Kurella Vittalacharya, and Dasari Kondappa. On this occasion, he announced monthly pension of Rs 25,000 for the poets and artists who have won Padma awardees and cash a prize of Rs 25 lakhs, which was given at the event.

Stating that the felicitation of Padma awards was an apolitical programme, he said all Telugu people are ours irrespective of they reside anywhere in the world. This programme is organised to set a new good tradition and it should be continued, he stated.

Former Vice President and Padma Vibushan M Venkaiah Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for identifying recognize genuine rural artists for the Padma Awards. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, and other officials participated in the event.
