Says the Telangana state will be first to implement sub-classifications
Will bring an ordinance to implement sub-classification in the ongoing job notifications
HYDERABAD, AUGUST 01, 2024: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hailed the Supreme Court Judgement on the categorization of Scheduled Castes. He was speaking in the Assembly on Thursday.
He said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Miister Damodara Raja Narasimha sent Advocate General to the Supreme Court on December 23, 2023 and discussed with legal experts on SC categorisation in the Supreme Court and added that theefforts made by the Telangana government paid off.
Expressing his gratitude for giving a judgement in favour of long-pending categorization of SCs by the Constitutional Bench of Supreme Court, he said that the state Government will take a decision for the categorisation of SCs into A,B,C and D groups in accordance with the Supreme Court verdict.
He also stated that the Government will also take appropriate measures to implement reservation for Madiga and Mala sub-castes in the job notifications issued recently. Government will promulgate an Ordinance, if necessary, in this direction, he pointed out.
Later, the Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, MLAs and others distributed sweets to the Chief Minister and thanked the government for the categorization of SCs. They met the Chief Minister by celebrating the judgement by beating the drums. Incidentally, the Chief Minister also joined the band by beating the drum to support them.
