

Karimnagar DCCB conducts a seminar on the International Year of Cooperatives

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 23, 2025: Mr K Surendra Mohan, Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Telangana, has stressed the need to involve youth in the cooperative structure by creating awareness about the benefits of cooperatives by providing educational opportunities and offering internships and leadership roles.
Mr Surendra Mohan was in Karimnagar district on Sunday to participate in various programmes as part of the International Year of Cooperatives organised by the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB). He visited the Nusthullapur PACS and participated in the MC meeting and the Karimnagar Dairy. Later, he participated in a seminar on the International Year of Cooperatives on the premises of the Karimnagar district Cooperative Central Bank in Karimnagar town.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mohan appreciated the Karimnagar DCCB for emerging as a role model in the country with its innovative schemes and diversification of business activities. Advising the bank to involve more youth in cooperative activities, he suggested the KDCCB to conduct internship programmes with the youth studying in various colleges including the colleges offering professional courses such as engineering, pharmacy, medicine, MBA and other courses.
Stating that the youth was staying away from the cooperative movement, he stressed the need to motivate the youth to become members of the cooperative societies and make them part of the activities. He also exuded confidence that the Karimnagar DCCB would be in the forefront in the country by involving youth in the cooperative sector.
Recollecting the success story of Karimnagar DCCB which had emerged as a role model cooperative bank in the country, Mr Surendra Mohan congratulated the KDCCB for providing financial assistance of Rs 60.45 crore to the Karimnagar Dairy for the setting up of the Mega dairy project in Nallagonda village of Thimmapur mandal.
Karimnagar DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao has urged the Commissioner of Cooperation to ensure that the government take measures to utilise the godowns constructed by PACS by FCI by providing rentals so that they would become viable. Additional Commissioner G Srinivas Rao, DCOs of integrated Karimnagar district N Ramanujacharyulu, C Srimala, Manoj Kumar and Ramakrishna, KDCCB Director V Mohan Reddy, general managers B Sridhar and Md Riyazuddin and others were also present.
