Telangana Govt extends term of heads of nine DCCBs and PACS by six months

HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 14, 2025:  The Telangana state government has extended the terms of chairpersons of nine District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs) and PACS by another six months on Friday, according to reliable sources.

Sources said that the government has extended the terms of Apex Cooperative Bank (TGSCAB) chairman along with the chairpersons of nine DCCBs by six months. Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation Thummala Nageshwara Rao has reportedly handed over the extension orders to DCCB chairpersons on Friday evening in Hyderabad.

The Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank (TGSCAB) provides leadership and refinance support to the DCCBs, aiming to provide timely and adequate credit facilities to farmers and other rural populations through Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) affiliated with the DCCBs.

TSCAB acts as a balancing centre for the resources of the cooperatives in the state and as an investment agency for DCCBs. The DCCBs are regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, but they are not operated by the government.
