Unveils statue of Husnabad Cooperative Society founder and former MLA Bopparaju Lakshmikantha Rao
SIDDIPET, NOVEMBER 19, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar formally inaugurated the new office building and 1200 metric tonnes capacity godown for the Large-Scale Cooperative Society in Husnabad town of Siddipet district on Tuesday.
Similarly, the Minister also unveiled the statue of former MLA and founder of cooperative society Bopparaju Lakshmikantha Rao on the society’s premises. NAFSCOB and KDCCB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, Telangana State Cooperative Union limited chairman Manala Mohan, Mulkanoor cooperative bank chairman and former MLA A Praveen Reddy, SETWIN chairman Giridhar Reddy, Additional Collector Abdul Hameed, Siddipet Grandhayala Samantha chairman Lingamurthy, Single-window chairman Shivaiah, Municipal chairperson Akula Rajitha Venkanna, councilors and others were also present.
Earlier, the Minister hoisted the cooperative flag and took a salute. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar extended his cooperative week celebrations and greetings to the farmers, being celebrated from November 14 to 20. Stating that Husnabad cooperative society was established in the year 1959 by former sarpanch and former MLA Bopparaju Lakshmikantha Rao, he said that he entered politics as a student union leader and active politics only through cooperatives as single-window chairman and DCMS chairman and APMarkfed chairman. He said that he was also a KRIBHCO member and striving for farmers’ welfare.
He promised to develop Choutupalli as industrial town and start all agro-based industries such as seed processing units, rice mills and others related to agriculture. He assured to strive for the all-round development of Husnabad assembly segment. On this occasion, the Minister along with NAFSCOB chairman handed over PMJJBY benefit to a nominee of Karimnagar DCCB Husnabad branch.
