KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 31, 2024: The Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (autonomous) on the outskirts of Karimnagar town organised one-day workshop on ‘IBM student developer programme’ for the B Tech third year students on Friday.
The students were given hands-on learning by using the software of IBM to equip them with the most sought-after IT skills in several areas including cloud, artificial intelligence, data science and predictive analytics needed to thrive in the job market.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by JITS chairman J Sagar Rao, secretary J Sumith Sai, Principal Dr KS Rao, Dean (Academics) PK Vaishali, CSE HoD R Jagadeesan, coordinator Srilatha and other faculty members were also present. It was organised with the support of Edunet foundation, and SAP Labs. Edunet Foundation master trainer Lakshman Rao trained the students.
IBM has introduced the IBM SkillsBuild Student Developer program through its SkillsBuild platform, aiming to enhance the skill sets of learners, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). IBM has committed to training two million learners in AI by 2026. Through this platform, students will have access to over 200 free courses in 20 languages, focusing on crucial skills for the future job market.
The demand for skills in Big Data, Cloud Computing, and AI is growing rapidly, with over 75% of companies likely to adopt these technologies. Additionally, 80% of companies are expected to invest in learning and training to stay competitive. The IBM SkillsBuild platform specifically focuses on areas such as: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Programming, Project Management and Sustainability.
IBM’s SkillsBuild modules offer interactive projects and real-world scenarios that help students understand complex topics, greatly benefiting academic and professional development. These courses are designed to make challenging subjects more accessible, preparing learners for post-college careers.
