KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2024: Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, celebrated the National Sports Day on Thursday with enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who had earned the moniker ‘The Wizard’.
The day highlights the importance of sports and physical activities for overall health. The theme for National Sports Day 2024 is ‘’Sports for the promotion of Peaceful and Inclusive Societies”.
Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy launched the celebrations by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Dhyan Chand and hoisting the sports flag. He received the sports torch and declared open the sports competitions for the students. The school came alive with enthusiasm as many sports activities and competitions were conducted to inculcate the importance of athletics among the students.
The students also displayed their aerobic skills by presenting a dance form. On this occasion, competitions were conducted in volleyball, throwball, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, basketball etc. The chairman also felicitated the PETs, who tirelessly nurture the students. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Narender Reddy recalled the contributions made by Dhyan Chand to the country and the Indian sports in particular. He also enlightened the students that the day embraces sportsmanship and brotherhood that comes with sports.
