HYDERABAD, JUNE 23, 2024: The Telangana Gazetted Headmasters association has met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has submitted a memorandum urging the government to reorganize and stabilize the derailed education sector in the Telangana state following the bifurcation of new districts from 2016 onwards without proper administration and supervision of the system.
Association state president P Raja Bhanu Chandra Prakash, general secretary R Raja Ganga Reddy and treasurer B Tukaram met the CM in the presence of TPCC official spokesperson, Principal secretary B Venkatesh, Commissioner of School Education A Devasena and others in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The headmasters association urged the government to reorganize the education system as revenue divisions by forming education division for every four to five mandals and appointing a divisional education officer for supervision and monitoring of schools. They sought creation of block educational officer to supervision schools in each mandal. They urged filling up of vacant posts in the education department’s CTE, IASE, SCERT, SIET, GCPE and DIET on ad hoc basis.
Stating that around 15 MEOs were working in same places since last 19 years in the Telangana state, they urged the government to transfer them immediately and sought appointment of senior headmasters as FAC MEOs. They also made a suggestion to change nomenclature of all the headmasters of ZPHS and government schools as Principals.
With regard to the maintenance of schools, they sought appointment of health keepers to clean classrooms, toilets, water tank etc. They sought free internet facilities in all schools for online classes and distribution of computers to all the schools. Appealing the government to provide free power to all schools, they also sought quality food to the students of government and zilla parishad schools on par with residential schools by increasing the cooking costs for midday meals.
