‘Ashirvachan’ programme was taken up instate social values and high moral values among children
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 23, 2024: In order to propagate virtues of Indian culture and traditions, the tenth class students of Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar, washed the feet of their parents and felicitated them by presenting them with shawl as part of ‘Ashirvachan’ programme organised by the school management on Sunday.
The programme was on the school premises by erecting shamianas and decorating the pandal with mango leaves. The programme launched with the lighting of lamp to Lord Ganesha by school chairman S Komuraiah, eminent poet and government school headmaster Anantha Chary. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Komuraiah said that the programme was taken to instate social values and high morals among the students and develop a bond between the parents and children. This initiative was aimed to empower the role of the parents and children for the betterment of the society, he stated.
Appreciating the novel programme, Anantha Chary called upon the parents to allocate their quality time with the children. He also appealed to the parents to ensure that the children had good diet, proper sleep and distanced from the use of cellular phone. The parents became emotional when their children washed their feet and paid obeisance and felicitated them by presenting a shawl. More than 50 couples have attended the programme and blessed their wards.
The parents praised the initiative saying that it would make their children more responsible. They also added that it had also reminded about their responsibility for making their children as future of the country with responsibilities. Cutting across the religion, all the parents including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians have participated in the programme and blessed their children. VVHS principal Mruthyunjayam, faculty members and others were also present.
