RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, JUNE 08, 2024: The funeral of ‘Raja’, the police sniffer dog (Labrador retriever), was performed with police honours in Rajanna-Sircilla district on Saturday. The dog died of ill-health.
Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahahan and other police officers paid tributes to the canine, which served the police department for about 14 years by working along with Road opening parties to check the bombs and landlines during the visit of VVIPs, VIPs and other occasions in the district along with its handler Mallesham.
On this occasion, the SP said that the canine Raja along with his handler Mallesham worked with the police department for 14 years. Raja underwent training for eight months at IITA, Moinabad. RIs Yadagiri, Madhukar, Ramesh and Raja, handler Mallesham and Dog squad personnel were also present.
