KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 26, 2026: The integrated Karimnagar District Handball Association has successfully conducted the Junior Girls Under-19 Handball Selection Trials at Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar on Monday.
Around 60 players participated in these selection trials and showcased their sporting talent. After examining the performance, skill and talent of the players, the talented players were selected for the district team to participate in the state-level competitions.
Master Athletics International Player and General Secretary of Master Athletics Neelam Lakshman and General Secretary of Karimnagar District Handball Association Basaraveni Lakshman were present on the occasion. Coaches Venkatesh and Prabhakar played a key role in conducting the selection trials.
Sportspersons selected for State-level competitions
Players selected in the selection trials will participate in the state-level handball tournament to be held in Khammam from October 31 to November 2, 2026. The association representatives wished that the players would showcase their talent in these competitions and bring good name to the district team.
The organisers said that such selection trials would go a long way in the development of handball in the district, especially to encourage girls in sports. With proper training and encouragement, the players can achieve more success at the state and national levels. PETs Amarender, Shivaji, Sai Vijay, and senior players Ramesh Jayanth participated, said Association President Vekateshwara Rao and Secretary Basaraveni Laxman.
