JAGTIAL, OCTOBER 09, 2026: Students of Alphores Junior College, Alphores Schools in Krishnanagar, Shivaveedhi and Vidyanagar in various parts of Jagtial town celebrated Bathukamma, the festival of flowers, with great pomp and gaiety on Friday.
The students, along with the women teaching faculty members, were in their best attire. After offering prayers to the Goddess Gauri by Alphores Educational Institutions Chairman V Narender Reddy, the students and teachers designed the Bathukammas by stacking different varieties of flowers in a conical shape. The students were also enlightened about the importance of Bathukamma festivities and the significance of using various flowers such as tangedu, gunugu, marigold, chrysanthemum, and lotus.

The atmosphere was electric with girls and teachers clad in their best attire and jewellery, singing and dancing around the Bathukammas, the flower formation of Goddess Gauri in her praise, with religious fervour and unmatched enthusiasm.
The event commenced with an exhilarating garba dedicated to Goddess Durga. All the students and staff present joined the concentric circles, tapping to the spectacular music. The dandiya sticks in both hands clicked in unison as the skilled dancers twirled in sync with each other to make for a mind-blowing sight.
The strong bond between the teachers and students knit tightly as the circles became profuse with growing numbers as the evening progressed. Periodically, there were loud cheers for an encore!
