KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26, 2026: An insightful and high-impact awareness programme on GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) 2027 was successfully organised at Government Degree and PG College, Jammikunta, to guide, mentor, and motivate undergraduate students toward higher education opportunities at premier national institutions such as IISc, IITs, and NITs.
Delivering the presidential address, college principal Prof. B. Ramesh urged the student community to think big and aim for postgraduate and PhD programs exclusively at prestigious institutions like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
Encouraging the students, Prof. Ramesh emphasised that a rural background or perceived limitations should never hold them back. Why not enjoy the world-class facilities, advanced research labs, and vibrant academic environments that IITs and NITs offer?, he remarked. He highlighted that pursuing higher education at these premier institutes is not just a personal academic milestone, but a pathway toward a better lifestyle and complete socio-economic upliftment for their families.
Prof. Ramesh also expressed his gratitude to the resource person, Ravishankar, for travelling all the way from Chennai to Jammikunta for the event.
The keynote session was delivered by Prof. Ravishankar Kottada from IIT Madras, who served as the chief resource person. He provided an extensive roadmap for cracking the GATE and JAM examinations, highlighting the advanced research labs, state-of-the-art facilities, international exposure, and generous fellowships available to students at IITs and NITs.
During his address, Prof. Ravishankar detailed exam patterns, syllabus trends, negative marking strategies, and scoring techniques for both GATE and JAM. He also offered practical guidance on long-term planning, time management, conceptual clarity, and selecting standard reference materials.
The programme concluded with an engaging interactive session, where students clarified their doubts regarding preparation strategies and career prospects. The event successfully inspired a large gathering of students to actively begin their preparation for GATE and JAM 2027.
The programme was attended by the students and Vice Principal S O Kumar, Academic Coordinator K Rajendram and faculty K Ganesh, Shamaka, Madhavi, Umakiran, Rajakumar, Ravi and others.
