KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 26, 2026: All-India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA) national secretary and zonal general secretary TVSS Ravindranath has demanded that the government strengthen the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and protect the country’s public sector undertakings (PSUs).
Participating as chief guest at the Insurance Corporation Employees Union (ICEU) Karimnagar division’s 30th general body meeting in Karimnagar town on Saturday, Mr Ravindranath said that the LIC of India was the largest insurer consistently focused on reaching rural areas and economically and socially disadvantaged sections and added that LIC aims to extend financial protection to every insurable individual at affordable costs.
Flaying Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre for encouraging Foreign Direct Investments in the Insurance sector, he said that the government was adopting anti-labour laws and not recruiting for the vacant posts in the PSUs and forcing the employees to work under pressure and mental stress. He demanded that the government should accord recognition to the AIIEA, which commands more than 80 per cent of the membership.
Union Zonal President Satish has alleged that the Union government had introduced UPI charges only to benefit the foreign card networks of Mastercard and Visa cards etc. He charged that the government was succumbing to the USA and introducing reforms in the insurance sector only to dilute LIC.
LIC senior divisional manager Shiva Naga Prasad, Sales Manager Harikrshna, Manager Krishna, Class-I officer association leader Ravinder, other union leaders Vasudeva Reddy, Ramaiah, Laxmikantham, UFBU leader Damodar, agents association leader Prabhakar Rao, Gattu Rajaiah, NPDCL employees association leaders Swamy, CPM leader Vasudeva Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
New Office-Bearers elected unopposed
On this occasion, the general body meeting had elected the new office-bearers for the year 2026-27 unanimously. Vaman Rao has been elected as the president, Surya Kala as vice president, Rammohan Rao as general secretary, Basaveshwar, Anupams and Srinivas as joint secretaries and Srilatha as treasurer.
