Experts call for advanced UAV research to promote environmental sustainability
HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026: Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women (BRECW), Hyderabad, in association with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, successfully conducted a three-day offline workshop on “UAV Technology for Eco-Friendly and Environmental Sustainability” from September 17 to 19, 2026 under the AICTE–VAANI 2026 scheme. The workshop was conducted in the Telugu regional language.
The workshop aimed to create awareness and enhance the technical knowledge of participants on emerging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies and their applications in environmental sustainability. The programme provided participants with exposure to UAV technology and its potential applications in addressing environmental and societal challenges.
A valedictory ceremony was organised on September 19, 2026, marking the successful completion of the three-day workshop.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. K. Gracy Saila Sree, Director, Dr. G. Shyama Chandra Prasad, Principal, Mr. G. Dayakar Reddy, Vice Principal, Dr. J. Madhavan, Head of the Department, Dr. Bommidi Sridhar, Coordinator, and Mrs. G. Srilakshmi, Coordinator.
The chief guests, Dr. A. Ashok Yadav, Senior Deputy General Manager, ECIL, and Dr. Kalpana Naidu, Professor, NIT Warangal, addressed the participants and appreciated their active participation in the workshop. They encouraged faculty members and researchers to pursue further research and innovation in the development of advanced UAV technologies, particularly for applications supporting environmental sustainability.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. K. Gracy Saila Sree, Director, BRECW, said that the college management is continuously striving to promote emerging technologies with sustainable objectives and encouraged the academic community to focus on technology-driven solutions that benefit society and the environment.
Dr. G. Shyama Chandra Prasad, Principal, BRECW, congratulated the organisers and participants on the successful completion of the workshop. He stated that the programme had successfully achieved its objectives and expressed his gratitude to AICTE for its encouragement and support in promoting technical education through regional-language initiatives.
The valedictory programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the chief guests, resource persons, participants, organisers and AICTE for their valuable support and contribution to the successful conduct of the workshop.
