KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has underlined the importance of reading habit and added that there is no alternative to reading books despite the availability of online facilities that provide knowledge.
The Union Minister released a book titled “Calendar of Events’ written by retired SRR Government Degree College principal and NCC officer Captain B Madhusudhan Reddy at Sai Manair High School in Karimnagar town, organised by Telugu Language Preservation Association on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the habit of reading, if inculcated at an early age, helps in brain development, enhances imagination and provides a conducive learning environment for students.
Emphasising that reading is the foundation of learning, which motivates students to read books independently, develops creativity, critical thinking, vocabulary and the ability to express both verbally and in writing, Mr Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that cultivating a reading habit promotes peace of mind and enables individuals to acquire knowledge and life skills. He stressed that leisure reading is essential to overcome daily stress in life and suggested that parents and teachers to encourage children to read books related to ethics and comics.
The State President of the Telugu Language Preservation Association, Dasyam Senadhipathi, who presided over the meeting, said that this book is a very rare educational treasure. The distinguished guest and Manair educational institutions chairman, Kadari Ananth Reddy, said that this Calendar of Events will be a valuable book that every library and every student should have in their hands. He said that he will take 20 books for each department in his educational institutions.
The author of the book, Lion Captain Madhusudhan Reddy, said that he worked hard for three years to bring this book. He said that he will distribute one copy to every government school free of cost. He said that this book has been prepared taking international, national and state-level days as the theme in this book. The book launch was attended by City Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, Deputy Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Corporator B Praveen Rao, Telugu language preservation association leaders in-charge Bommakanti Kishan, and Khalid, Satavahana Lions Club in-charge Lion M Mahender, N Venugopal, K Rajender Reddy, Manohara Chary, V Srinivas, P Surender, along with former Corporator Tummala Ramesh Reddy, G Janardhan Reddy, N Siddha Reddy, Delhi Defence College Satish Reddy, other guests, teachers and students. Later, Bandi Sanjay felicitated the book author and other guests. The organisers felicitated the chief guest Sanjay Kumar, Mayor Srinivas, and Deputy Mayor Sunil Rao.
