30 per cent additional arrangements made for devotees: TTD EO
TIRUMALA, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026: The sacred seed-sowing fete- Ankurarpanam ceremony for the Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams was performed in accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama traditions at Tirumala on Monday evening.
The annual Brahmotsavams will be held from September 15 to 23.
Sri Vishwaksena Leads the Way:
As part of the ceremony, Sri Vishwaksena, the commander in Chief of the divine army of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, was taken on a colourful procession along the four mada streets to oversee the arrangements for the grand festival.
Special prayers were offered to Mother Earth at the Yagashala, followed by the sowing of Navadhanyas in holy soil.
Grand Arrangements for Devotees
TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra told media that all arrangements had been completed, with facilities enhanced by 30% across departments.
Annaprasadam will be increased by 38% on the day of Garuda Seva, Srivari Prasadam by 30%, and beverages by 50%. APSRTC will operate 3,100 trips, that includes 500 additional services.
Dhwajarohanam on September 15
Dhwajarohanam will be performed on Tuesday between 6:21 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. in the auspicious Meena Lagnam.
The Honourable Chief Minister of AP Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will present silk robes to Sri Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the State Government.
On September 16, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Pilgrim Experience Centre, SV Museum, electric buses, Nandakam app and Group Insurance Scheme for devotees.
A Ritual of Hope and Blessings
Ankurarpanam symbolises the sowing of auspicious seeds and marks the beginning of the Brahmotsava celebrations.
Performed after sunset amid Vedic chants and sacred rituals, it invokes divine blessings all the three crore Hindu Deities towards the successful conduct of the Brahmotsavams festivities.
