HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 11, 2026: The Government Degree College, Rajendranagar in Hyderabad welcomed Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in a unique and sustainable manner by welcoming an eco-friendly Ganesha to its campus for the celebrations.
The initiative reflected a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, ensuring that the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will be conducted in a manner that does not harm nature and ecology during the immersion in water bodies.
On this occasion, Principal M Hima Bindu said devotion and environmental preservation take precedence over the size of idols and asserted that celebrating festivals responsibly is a duty every citizen shares. She said protecting the natural elements is essential for human survival.
Lord Ganesha represents wisdom, she said, while urging the citizens to avoid Plaster of Paris and chemical dyes to prevent water pollution. “Divine blessings depend on selfless service to nature rather than the physical scale of an idol,” she pointed out. Vice Principal M Satyanarayana, IQAC coordinator Sama Ravinder Reddy and others participated in the programme.
