
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 09, 2026: The Department of Telugu, Government Degree College, Sircilla, celebrated the birth anniversary of People’s Poet Kaloji Narayana Rao with great enthusiasm on Wednesday.
The Principal of the college, Shankar, who presided over the programme, paid floral tributes to Kaloji by garlanding his portrait. Addressing the gathering, he stated that people’s experiences, aspirations, and ambitions are reflected in the language they speak in their daily lives. He praised Kaloji as a great personality who worked tirelessly to bring respect and recognition to the mother tongue in literature.
Speaking on the occasion, Katukam Sharada, Lecturer in Telugu, said that Kaloji Narayana Rao strongly criticised social inequalities, injustices, and the oppressive policies of rulers through his writings. She observed that many mother tongues are facing the threat of extinction due to the impact of globalisation and emphasised that speaking Telangana Telugu with pride in our homes and society is the true tribute we can offer to this great poet on Telangana Language Day.
She further stated that every individual has a responsibility to preserve and pass on the richness of Telangana language and culture to future generations. Faculty members A. Prasad, S. Krishna Prasad, M. Shakuntala, KY. Karuna, J. Narsaiah, Tirupathi, Y. Narsaiah, and students actively participated in the programme.
