KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09, 2026: The 13th State-Level Sub-Junior and Junior Yogasana Sports Championship for Boys and Girls at Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli, in Karimnagar town, on September 11 and 12, 2026.
As per the directions of Telangana Yoga Association, the Karimnagar District Yoga Association under the auspices of Yoga Federation of India, Sports Authority of Telangana and Telangana Olympic Association is organising the state-level Yogasana meet in Karimnagar.
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Wednesday, Telangana Yoga Association Chairman S Ravinder Singh, Karimnagar district Yoga Association president N Sidda Reddy, general secretary G Ramakrishna, treasurer P Swaroopa Chary and others said that the competitions would be conducted in sub-juniors in the age groups of 8-10 years, 10-12 years and 12-14 years. In the junior group, the competitions for 14-16 age group and the 16-18 age group.
A total of 900 sportspersons from the entire state would be arriving in Karimnagar town to participate in the state-level Yogasana meet. A total of 30 sportspersons selected at the state-level Yogasana competitions would participate in the national-level Yogasana competitions, which will be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan state from October 3 to 10, 2026.
The competitions would be inaugurated by former Minister and Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar along with Choppadandi MLA Medipalli Satyam, Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, Alphores Educational Institutions chairman V Narender Reddy, Telangana Yoga Association president SN Reddy, Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE) Karimnagar chairman Dr Polsani Sudhakar Rao, eminent physician Dr D Raghu Raman, Yoga Federation of India vice president J Manohar Kumar and others.
Mr Singh said that the Karimnagar district Yoga Association was established in the year 1993 and since then has transformed several persons into state, national and international yoga players. He said that they had educated the students to learn Yoga, which is an ancient sport, and secure reservations in education and employment. He also reminded that several yoga players from the integrated Karimnagar district have excelled in international yoga competitions, and several secured employment through certificates by participating in Yoga competitions like any other sport. Several students were pursuing higher education in medicine, engineering etc through the sports quota, he added.
