KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 04, 2026: The spirit of Janmashtami, the joyous celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth, came alive at Bhagavathi High School, Bhagathnagar, in Karimnagar town, as students donned traditional attire and engaged in a variety of cultural activities on Friday.
The auditorium was adorned with vibrant decorations, depicting the life and times of Lord Krishna. Students dressed as Lord Krishna, Radha, Yashoda, Gopikas and Balarama and other characters, creating a festive atmosphere on the campus. The celebrations featured cultural performances depicting episodes from Lord Krishna’s childhood.
To the delight of the audience, the children performed a mesmerising dance to the tune of popular Krishna devotional songs. The rhythmic movements and colourful costumes left everyone spellbound. One of the most exciting moments of the day was breaking a “dahi handi’ (utti ceremony). The lively performance created an aura of gaiety and enchantment.
School chairman B Ramana Rao and director B Vijaya Lakshmi appreciated the efforts of the students and parents and encouraged them to stay attached to their traditions and culture. Teaching faculty and others were also present on the occasion.
