KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2026: Telugu Language Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at St George International School (CBSE) in Karimnagar town on Saturday to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned Telugu language reformer Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy.
Various programmes were organised to create awareness among students about the greatness, sweetness and literary richness of the Telugu language, along with the uniqueness of our culture and traditions.
On this occasion, students showcased their talent through Telugu poems, poetry recitations, speeches, songs and other cultural programmes. Their impressive performances captivated the audience and added grandeur to the celebrations.
The programme was graced by the school Chairman, P Fathima Reddy, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he highlighted the significant contributions of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy in making the Telugu language accessible to the common people and in laying a strong foundation for the Vyavaharika Bhasha Movement, which promoted the use of spoken Telugu.
Emphasising that Telugu is a symbol of our culture and traditions, the Chairman encouraged students to love and respect their mother tongue. He stated that it is the responsibility of everyone not only to speak Telugu but also to understand and preserve its literature, culture and traditions and pass them on to future generations.
Mr Fathima Reddy appreciated the students for their wonderful performances and congratulated them on their efforts. He remarked that such programmes play a vital role in bringing out the hidden talents of students and developing their interest and pride in their mother tongue.
