KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 27, 2026: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm at the Government Degree College for Women in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Women Empowerment Cell, led by its coordinator B Rajani Devi. On this occasion, students and faculty members exchanged and tied Rakhis while highlighting the significance of the Rakhi festival. B. Rajani Devi stated that Rakhi is not merely a celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters, but also a symbol of love, affection, mutual respect, protection, and social responsibility.
She emphasized that everyone should contribute towards ensuring women’s safety, building their self-confidence, promoting self-reliance, and empowering women. She encouraged the students to foster respect for women in society and work towards equality.
The college principal and faculty members participated in the programme and celebrated the Rakhi festivities with great enthusiasm and joy.
