KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 17, 2026: Milk-producing farmers of the integrated Karimnagar district protested against the Telangana state government for allegedly transferring the Karimnagar Dairy lands to the Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited without informing the Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited.
Several hundred farmers from various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district arrived in large numbers and participated in the rally and dharna in front of the Indira Chowk and Collectorate on Monday. The protest rally was led by Karimnagar Dairy, albeit Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajeshwar Rao said that the Karimnagar Dairy lands were mentioned in Dharani records as belonging to the KMPCL. However, it was later mentioned in the Bhu Bharathi records that the lands belong to the Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited. He said that the Karimnagar Dairy lands should be utilised for dairy development and milk-producing farmers.

He said that the diversion of Karimnagar Dairy lands to TGSDDCFL would cause several hardships to the milk producers of the integrated Karimnagar district. He urged Collector Chitra Mishra to conduct a thorough inquiry into the Karimnagar Dairy lands and provide justice to milk-producing farmers.
He also demanded that the government fulfil its promise of providing Rs 4 per litre incentive to the milk-producing farmers. He urged the government to encourage dairy and increase milk production by distributing at least two milking animals by providing 50 per cent subsidy. The Karimnagar dairy chairman and board members submitted a memorandum to the Collector.
