HYDERABAD, AUGUST 16, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has inaugurated 48 newly constructed family residential units for Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel near Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday.
The residential complex has been built on 50 acres of land. Along with senior officials, he inspected the newly constructed housing complex and enquired about the facilities and welfare measures being provided to the personnel. SSB Director General Sanjay Singhal and other senior officers attended the programme along with the Union Minister.
The development will ensure the best for the soldiers at the borders. While addressing the Border Security Forces, Bandi Sanjay appreciated the role of SSB in securing the nation’s borders with full vigilance and dedication. The forces help in protecting the country from narcotics, illegal migration, weapon sales, and human trafficking. Moreover, he said that SSB helps control the flow of contraband, counterfeit notes, and wildlife trafficking.

The use of modern technology plays a vital role in making the borders safe, secure, and protected. The forces use drones, CCTV cameras, thermal sight devices, and night vision devices for monitoring activities along the borders. The border monitoring system has been further strengthened through GPS-based patrolling, secure digital communication, and GIS technology. The SSB is also equipped to provide disaster relief and emergency assistance.
Currently, 18 relief and rescue teams are on standby to respond to emergencies, demonstrating the force’s commitment to public service. Constructed over a sprawling 50-acre site, the new residential complex underscores the government’s responsibility to ensure soldiers’ families live safely, with dignity, and in comfort. The initiative allows soldiers to focus entirely on their duties, knowing their families are well cared for.
Bandi Sanjay stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Central Government continues to prioritise the welfare of military personnel. “Efforts are underway to improve medical facilities, provide modern educational institutions for soldiers’ children, and enhance overall living standards. Such measures are believed to strengthen soldiers’ mental resilience and their capacity to serve the nation effectively,” union minister said.
