Snapana Tirumanjanam performed as per agama traditions
TIRUPATI, AUGUST 08, 2026: The annual Pavitrotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati began on Saturday with devotion and traditional rituals as per Agama scriptures.
Pavitrotsavams to Preserve Temple Sanctity
The Pavitrotsavams are conducted as per Agama traditions to rectify any inadvertent lapses during the daily rituals, worship and festivals performed throughout the year and to preserve the sanctity of the temple.
Snapana thirumanjanam for Sita, Rama and Lakshmana
As part of the festivities, the processional deities of Sri Sita, Rama and Lakshmana were taken to the Yagasala through the Vimana Pradakshina in the morning.
Snapana thirumanjanam was then performed with milk, curd, honey, sandalwood, turmeric and coconut water. Shattumora and Asthanam were subsequently conducted.
Sita, Rama and Lakshmana Take Golden Tiruchi Procession
In the evening, Sri Sita, Rama and Lakshmana were taken in a procession on the Golden Tiruchi along the Mada Streets of the temple, blessing the devotees.
Pavitra Pratishta and Sayanadhivasam
Pavitra Pratishta, Sayanadhivasam and other Vedic rituals will be performed on Saturday night.
Pavitra Samarpana on August 9
Pavitra Samarpana will be performed on the morning of August 9, followed by special Vedic rituals at the Yagasala in the evening.
Deputy EO Smt. B. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri K. Srinivasulu Reddy, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh Babu, temple priests, Srivari Seva volunteers and a large number of devotees participated in the programme.
