RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 06, 2026: The Government Degree College in Sircilla textile town paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar on his birth anniversary on Thursday.
At a programme organised by the NSS unit of the college, principal Shankar, vice principal T Lavanya, NSS programme officer M Shakuntala, K Sharada, and others paid floral tributes to the portrait of Jayashankar.
On this occasion, the speakers said that the people of Telangana will forever remember Professor Jayashankar’s invaluable contribution during the Telangana movement and the formation of a separate state of Telangana. Recalling that Telangana ideologue Jayashankar toiled tirelessly throughout his life to the cause of a separate Telangana state, they described Jayashankar as a towering personality who lived and fought for Telangana until he breathed his last. Faculty members A Prasad, M Shobarani, Krishna Prasad, G Sridhar Rao, J Narsaiah, KY Karuna and NSS volunteers were also present.
