SIDDIPET, AUGUST 02, 2026: A historic programme was organised at the Government Autonomous Degree College, Siddipet, under the auspices of the National Service Scheme (NSS). As part of the prestigious nationwide campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India) initiated by the Central Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted directly with the youth of Siddipet district through a live video conference on Sunday.
PM Narendra Modi’s Guidance on Substance Abuse:
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister lauded the youth as the primary driving force behind the country’s progress. He urged today’s youth to safeguard their creativity for nation-building rather than falling prey to substance abuse and addictions. Expressing deep concern, he stated that drug addiction not only degrades an individual’s physical and mental health but also devastates entire families. The Prime Minister called upon every NSS volunteer to act like a soldier in creating widespread awareness against drugs, especially in rural areas. PM Modi’s inspiring address infused a renewed sense of self-confidence among the students.

NSS Volunteers Administered the ‘Nasha Mukt’ Pledge:
Following the Prime Minister’s address, all participating NSS volunteers and officials stood together to administer the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” Pledge. Extending their hands, the volunteers firmly resolved never to succumb to substance abuse in their lives and pledged to protect their families, friends, and society from the clutches of drugs.
Grand Success Under the Leadership of Event Organising Officer A. Mahesh Kumar:
This massive socio-educational program was spearheaded and meticulously executed by A. Mahesh Kumar, District NSS Nodal Officer and Event Organising Officer. By seamlessly coordinating with various colleges across the district, he played a pivotal role in bringing this prestigious national-level event and the pledge ceremony to the students of Siddipet. With the full support of College NSS Chairman Professor G. Sunitha, Mahesh Kumar motivated the volunteers and organised the event flawlessly, earning widespread appreciation.
