KARIMNAGAR, JULY 30, 2026: The Irrigation officials have announced that they would be opening floodgates of the Sripada Yellampalli Project to discharge over two lakh cusecs downstream into the river Godavari on Thursday at 7.30 pm tentatively.
Following the heavy inflows into the project and the continuous rains, the officials have decided to open the floodgates of the project. Presently, the project has 18.3792 tmcs of water against its storage capacity of 20.1754 tmcs. The water level at the project is 147.36 meters against 148 meters full capacity.

The inflows into the project are 3,63,997 cusecs, including 1,56, 279 cusecs from the Kadem project and catchment areas, 2,07,718 cusecs, and the outflow is 16,025 cusecs, including lifting 15,750 cusecs of water from the Nandi pump house to the Mid Manair Dam and 275 cusecs of water to the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply Board.
