KARIMNAGAR, JULY 30, 2026: The Department of Computer Science & Applications of the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, Satavahana University, inaugurated a three-day hands-on workshop on “Machine Learning with Python” on Thursday. The programme is being organised as part of “Academic Empowerment Programme for Government Degree Colleges – A 100-Day Initiative” launched by Satavahana University.
The programme was presided over by Prof. D. Varalakshmi, Principal of Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar. Addressing the participants, she emphasised that students should enhance their skills by gaining practical knowledge in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Python Programming. She encouraged them to make the best use of such opportunities to improve their employability and secure better career prospects in the future.
Prof. Sri Ranga Prasad, Principal of the College of Commerce, Satavahana University, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the growing significance of Machine Learning in today’s digital era. He advised students to strengthen their practical skills and prepare themselves to meet the demands of research and industry.
Speaking about the workshop, D. Srinivas, In-charge, Department of Computer Science & Applications, stated that the three-day training programme will provide hands-on sessions on topics including Introduction to Machine Learning, Python for Data Science, Data Pre-processing, Data Visualization, Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Model Building, Model Evaluation, Hands-on Practical Sessions, and Mini Projects. The training will be conducted by subject experts with a strong emphasis on practical learning.
The programme was attended by M. Kalpana, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Applications, G. Srinivas Reddy, Manoj Kumar; faculty members Harikrishna, Kishore, Supriya, Saritha, Swarthika, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students.
