KARIMNAGAR, JULY 29, 2026: Many parts of Telangana state have been experiencing heavy to moderate rainfall due to the cyclone effect on Wednesday. Normal life has been severely affected by incessant rains across several districts of the state.
The students and office-goers suffered a lot due to continuous downpour in Karimnagar town. Several low-lying areas were inundated with floodwaters, causing umpteen woes for vehicles and school-goers. The waterlogging at Bhagathnagar near Arvintree School had become a big hindrance for students and other road-users.
On the other hand, the minor and major irrigation projects were receiving steady inflows from their catchment areas. The Sripada Yellampalli project in Ramagundam is receiving steady inflows of over 44,655 cusecs of water from its catchment areas. Following inclement weather conditions, Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam has postponed the counting of Hundi collections, which was scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday at the temple premises in Vemulawada.
The IMD stated that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy districts of Telangana.
Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and Gusty Winds (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at isolated places in Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana.
