Over 1,600 athletes from 36 Police and CAPF organisations to compete in five disciplines from 23–30 July
HYDERABAD, JULY 20, 2026: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), will host the 11th All India Police Judo Cluster Championship 2026 at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, from 23 to 30 July 2026.
More than 1,600 sportspersons representing 36 State Police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) organisations will participate in the championship, competing in Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo, Karate and Pencak Silat. Around 150 technical officials from the respective national federations will officiate the competitions.
The details of the championship were announced at a Curtain Raiser-cum-Press Conference held at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), Hyderabad, today. Addressing the media, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Sohi, Director/Inspector General, NISA, said the championship would strengthen sporting culture among Police and CAPF personnel while providing a national platform for athletes to showcase their talent and competitive excellence.
Olympian Shri Parupalli Kashyap and renowned rowing coach Shri Ismail Beg, who attended the event, highlighted the importance of sports in developing discipline, resilience, teamwork and leadership among uniformed personnel. They expressed confidence that the championship would inspire athletes to excel at national and international levels.
The championship assumes significance ahead of the Asian Games 2026, with four of the five disciplines—Judo, Wushu, Taekwondo and Karate—forming part of the Asian Games programme. It is expected to provide valuable competitive exposure to athletes from Police and CAPFs.
The championship mascot, “VIRA”, inspired by Telangana’s State Animal, the Spotted Deer (Chital), symbolises the qualities of being Vibrant, Impactful, Resilient and Agile, reflecting the spirit of both martial arts and the uniformed forces.
The Sports Authority of Telangana, Telangana Police Academy and other partner organisations are extending logistical support for the event. Anti-doping tests will be conducted by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) in accordance with the prescribed norms, while comprehensive medical and accommodation arrangements have been made for participants and officials.
