TIRUMALA, JULY 14, 2026: On the occasion of the annual Salakatla Anivara Asthanam, scheduled to be observed on July 17, the sacred Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was performed in accordance with the Agama traditions at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media outside the temple, the TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra, along with Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said that Koil Alwar Tiirumanjanam is traditionally conducted four times a year—before Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam, Brahmotsavams, and Vaikuntha Ekadasi.
As part of this ritual, the temple premises from Ananda Nilayam to the Bangaru Vakili, including the sub-shrines, temple courtyard, Potu, walls, roof, and puja articles, are thoroughly cleansed with water.

The presiding deity was completely covered with a cloth during the purification process.
After the cleansing, the entire temple was sprinkled with a sacred aromatic mixture.
Thereafter, the veil was removed, and the temple priests performed special pujas and Naivedyam and resumed Darshan to devotees.
In view of the ceremony, the Ashtadala Padapadmaradhana Seva was cancelled for the day.
Among those present are TTD JEO Dr. A. Sharath, CVSO Sri Muralikrishna, temple Deputy EO Sri Lokanatham, several TTD Board Members, and other officials.
