HANAMKONDA, JULY -06, 2026:Â Vaagdevi Degree & P.G. College (Autonomous), Hanamkonda, organised the induction programme for the first-year students of all B.Com and BBA streams for the academic year 2026-2027 in the college auditorium on Monday.
The programme was presided over by the Principal, Dr A. Shesha Chalam, who welcomed the newly admitted students and their parents. In his presidential address, he highlighted the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, skill development, industry exposure and holistic personality development. He encouraged students to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the college and strive for excellence in their academic and professional careers.
The programme featured two distinguished speakers. Mr MSR Murthy, Director, Maple Software Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of developing industry-relevant skills, digital competencies and professional ethics to succeed in today’s competitive business environment.
Dr Anantha Govardhan, Director General (Retd.), DRDO, delivered an inspiring address on leadership, discipline, innovation and nation-building. He motivated students to cultivate a spirit of inquiry, commitment and continuous learning.
Sri Vishwambhar Reddy also addressed the gathering and encouraged students to pursue their education with dedication, integrity and a clear vision for their future careers.
The Vice-Principal, Dr P. Harender Reddy, addressed the students and explained the academic framework, institutional values and the various opportunities available for their overall development.
The Head, Department of Commerce and Business Management, Dr C. Dattatreyulu, welcomed the students to the department and outlined the objectives, academic structure and career prospects of the B.Com and BBA programmes offered by the institution.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, faculty members and staff. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of a promising academic journey for the first-year students.
