SKNR Government Arts & Science College Students Serve as AI Mentors for Government High School Students Under Telangana Government’s “Akka–Anna AI Mentors” Programme
JAGTIAL, JULY 02, 2026: As part of the flagship “Akka–Anna AI Mentors” Programme launched by the Government of Telangana under the guidance of the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, students of SKNR Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Jagitial served as AI Mentors for the students of Government High School, Old Jagitial. The programme aims to create awareness among school students about Artificial Intelligence (AI), coding, and other emerging digital technologies through peer learning.
The District Educational Officer (DEO), Sri Ramu, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he said that Artificial Intelligence will play a crucial role in shaping the future, and urged students to learn AI, coding, and computer skills to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving digital world. He emphasised that these skills will help students secure better higher education opportunities and rewarding careers. He also encouraged students to make the best use of such innovative initiatives introduced by the Government of Telangana.
During the programme, the Akka–Anna AI Mentors from SKNR Government Arts & Science College demonstrated basic coding concepts, AI applications, and digital learning tools to the school students. Through interactive sessions and live coding demonstrations, the college students explained how Artificial Intelligence is transforming education, healthcare, agriculture, business, and other sectors. The school students actively participated in the sessions, interacted with the mentors, and clarified their doubts with great enthusiasm.
The speakers appreciated the visionary initiative of the Government of Telangana and the Commissioner of Collegiate Education for introducing the Akka–Anna AI Mentors Programme, stating that it would help bridge the gap between school and higher education while equipping students with future-ready digital skills.
The programme was attended by Government High School Headmistress Chandrakala, School Officer Sri A. Chandrashekar Reddy, SKNR Government Arts & Science College Vice Principal Prof. A. Srinivas, NCC Officer P. Raju, District Nodal Officer for the Akka–Anna AI Mentors Programme G. V. R. Sai Madhukar, Sri K. Srinivas, Government High School teachers Ananda Rao, Surya Prakash, and Srinivas, college faculty members, Akka–Anna AI Mentors, and a large number of school and college students.
The programme concluded successfully with a call to students to continuously upgrade their knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, coding, and digital technologies, enabling them to contribute meaningfully towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and a technologically empowered India.
