Drug Awareness camp held at Telangana social welfare residential school under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 23, 2026: The Prakruthi Integrated Rehabilitation Centre of Addicts (IRCA) de-addiction centre, Karimnagar town, organised a drug awareness camp at Telangana social welfare residential school and college for girls in Chintakunta on the outskirts of Karimnagar town as part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ on Tuesday.

The initiative aimed to educate students on the dangers of substance abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle under the caption of ‘Say no to Drugs and Yes to Career’.

Addressing the students, IRCA Project Director and Psychologist Nageshwar Galipalli stressed the importance of early awareness and timely prevention in combating drug addiction. “Effective de-addiction efforts involve awareness programmes, counselling and continuous support to help individuals break free from drug dependency,” he said.

He underlined the need for school-based interventions that focus on education, motivation and rehabilitation, helping students build resilience and reduce the risk of substance abuse.

Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan district members Pendyala Kesav Reddy and community coordinator Kuthadi Tirupati also spoke on the occasion. On this occasion, the organisers administered a pledge to the students. Principal Mallesham, teaching faculty and others were also present.
