KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 12, 2026: The Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, has introduced the first-of-its-kind state-of-the-art HyperSight technology, a groundbreaking advancement in radiation therapy and is a boon to cancer patients.
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Friday, Yashoda Hospital senior Oncologist Dr Ramakrishna Prasad said that the HyperSight technology offers unprecedented precision in targeting tumours while protecting the healthy tissue. HyperSight technology—an advanced Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging system is true boon to cancer patients. It captures diagnostic-quality images in mere seconds directly on the treatment table, ensuring unparalleled precision for radiotherapy while minimising radiation exposure, he said and added that the advanced technology provides cutting-edge high-resolution imaging and radiation systems act as game-changers in oncology.
Unlike traditional radiation, which is given for about 50 days, the HyperSight Technology treatment is completed within one to three days with no side effects or damage to other tissues, he maintained. Besides, unlike traditional imaging, HyperSight acquires near-diagnostic quality images in seconds. This rapid scan time minimises motion artifacts (such as those from breathing) and reduces the time patients must spend immobilised on the treatment couch, he stated
Dr Ramakrishna said that this state-of-the-art machine is the first of its kind in India and is exclusively available at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad. Precise Treatment with Minimal Side Effects: This technology accurately targets the exact location of cancer cells to deliver radiation exclusively to those areas. As a result, side effects on the surrounding healthy body parts are significantly minimised.
Dr. Prasad highlighted that identifying cancer in its initial stages drastically increases the chances of a complete cure. He added that the hospital is organising special awareness campaigns and cancer-detection camps to educate the public. He explained that many cancer patients have already undergone successful treatment using this advanced technology and are on the path to a full recovery. He urged the people to utilise the advanced technology for the treatment of cancer without side effects and cost-effectively, with less stay and visits to the hospital for radiation, chemotherapy or surgery. He said that the HyperSight Technology could be utilised under the Arogyasri health insurance scheme also.
