KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 16, 2024: Former MIM Leader and senior politician Syed Wajajuddin has joined the Congress party in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Popularly called as ‘Wahaj Bhai’ in the district, Mr Wahajuddin launched his political career with the Congress party in the year 1978 as the Youth Congress secretary. He was unanimously elected as Karimnagar Municipal councilor in the year 1987. However, he shifted his loyalty to the AIMIM in the year 2000 due to various reasons.
His wife Tameezunissa Begum was elected as Corporator and Mr. Wahaj was Co-Option Member of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, he continued to serve as District President AIMIM for 20 long years.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar , Government Whip Adi Srinivas, DCC president and Manakondur legislator Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Karimnagar Congress leader Velichala Rajender Rao and others were also present.
