
RAMAGUNDAM, JUNE 05, 2026: The closing ceremony of GEM–2026 (Girl Empowerment Mission) was organised with great enthusiasm and fervour at Kakatiya Function Hall, NTPC Ramagundam, marking the successful culmination of the month-long residential empowerment programme for young girls.
The programme commenced with the warm welcome of dignitaries through the presentation of eco-friendly planters, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and the rendition of the NTPC Geet. A video showcasing the memorable activities and achievements of GEM–2026, along with a special Swachhta Pakhwada film, was screened, highlighting the transformative journey of the participants.
The cultural segment began with a graceful Ganesh Vandanam, setting a devotional and celebratory tone for the evening. The audience was captivated by a series of vibrant performances presented by the GEM students, including a skit on the theme of World Environment Day, folk dances, a yoga performance, an energetic Punjabi dance, a self-defence demonstration featuring karate and nunchaku techniques, and a colourful Rajasthani dance performance.

The event also provided a platform for GEM students to share their experiences and reflections. The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to NTPC for providing them with an enriching learning environment that enhanced their confidence, knowledge, communication skills, and overall personality development. They fondly recalled the friendships and unforgettable memories created during their stay at NTPC Ramagundam.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held to recognise the successful participation of all GEM students, followed by a group photograph. Mementoes were also presented to the supporting staff in appreciation of their dedicated efforts towards the successful conduct of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Chandan Kumar Samanta, Head of Project (R&T), NTPC Ramagundam, congratulated the participants on successfully completing the programme and appreciated their enthusiasm, talent, and eagerness to learn. He emphasised the importance of education, self-confidence, and determination in achieving success and encouraged the students to continue pursuing their aspirations with dedication and perseverance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to the management, mentors, faculty members, supporting staff, parents, and all stakeholders whose collective efforts made GEM–2026 a resounding success.
The closing ceremony served as a fitting culmination to the Girl Empowerment Mission, celebrating the spirit of empowerment, learning, and holistic development while leaving the participants with cherished memories and renewed confidence for the future.
