RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 13, 2026: Former NAFSCOB chairman and former Karimnagar DCCB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao felicitated Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet mandal, principal V Vijaya Laksmi, for her dedicated and yeoman services for the successful implementation of ‘Praja Palana- Pragathi Pranalika’ programme on Wednesday
As part of the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika initiated by the Telangana Government, and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Hyderabad, First Day started with the release of posters and the launch of Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme and the launch of Yoga camp and Karate camp for 15 days, with the community support. On the second day, 10 departments started PG free coaching.
The third day of the Educational Week celebrations was organised at the Government Degree and PG College, Gambhiraopet, under the presidentship of the college Principal, Prof. V. Vijayalakshmi.
During the programme, meetings of the CPDC (College Planning and Development Committee) and the Alumni Association Committee were conducted. Chief Guest Konduri Ravinder Rao stated that since the establishment of the new college, several funds had been allocated by the community and support had been extended for the development of the institution through CSR funding. The Principal pointed out that the absence of hostel facilities for students was becoming a major obstacle in increasing student admissions. Responding to this, the Chief Guest assured that efforts would be made to establish a hostel within the college campus itself.

Alumni members recalled the difficult conditions and lack of facilities during the early days of the college. They appreciated the remarkable progress achieved over the years, stating that the institution now possesses modern facilities such as laboratories, TASK programmes, NSS activities, and job fairs, which have greatly helped students in securing employment opportunities. They praised the college for emerging as a leading institution in providing quality education to students.
Psychiatrist Dr. K. Praveen Kumar advised students and teachers to maintain both physical and mental well-being through proper rest, balanced diet, yoga, and walking exercises. Legal Advisor Adepu Venu spoke about human rights and responsibilities and encouraged students to develop themselves into responsible citizens. He assured to provide Legal guidance to college and conduct legal awareness programmes.
Under the leadership of Vanga Geetha Reddy of Pratima Foundation, skill development programmes and various medical camps are being organised for the students. Venkat Laxmi a representative from Prathima foundation, addressed on their behalf.
The programme was attended by BRS Rajanna Sircilla District President Thota Agaiah, Vice Principal M. Prabhakar, IQAC Coordinator Y. Anjaneyulu, NSS PO Paka Dharmapuri, TASK Coordinator J. Shravan, Scholarship Coordinator N. Adivishnu, WEC Coordinator V. Vani, K.V. Bikshamaiah, Manohar, Sucharan, Srinivas, Krishna Prasad, Mahesh Bhargavi, Senior Assistant Srinivas, Shankar, other teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, who contributed to the success of the programme.
