HYDERABAD, MAY 12, 2026: D.S.V.R. Murthy, an officer of the 1998 batch of Indian Postal Servics (IPoS) ssumes Charge as Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Mr D.S.V.R. Murthy born on 26.07.1971 is a Computer Science Engineer from Gitam’s Engineering College, Visakhapatnam. He is a native of GUNTUR District in Andhra Pradesh. The Officer joined the Department of Posts as an Indian Postal Services Officer (IPoS) on 07.09.1998. In the beginning as JTS/STS officer, Sri Murthy garu worked in many positions as SSRM, Air Mail Sorting- Mumbai, Manager, Air Mail Processing Centre – Mumbai, SSPOs- Bengaluru, APMG- Bengaluru Circle Office, Dy. Director – PTC Mysuru. Later on in the capacity of JAG Officer, Sri Murthy garu worked as DPS-Chennai, DPS- Vijayawada Region. In the capacity of Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) officer, Sri Murthy garu worked as Additional Director, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy (RAKNPA), Ghaziabad, Postmaster General- South Karnataka Region and Postmaster General- Vijayawada Region, Andhra Pradesh. Sri D.S.V.R. Murthy garu got promoted to Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) and worked as Chief Postmaster General, J&K Postal Circle from 17.11.2025 onwards till transfer to Telangana Postal Circle.
