Proposals to be placed before the SVIMS executive body
TIRUPATI, APRIL 17, 2026: A key decision has been taken to provide relief to NRI MBBS students studying at SVIMS – Sri Padmavathi Women’s Medical College, Tirupati. It has been decided to collect tuition fees for 4½ years instead of 5 years for the MBBS course of the 2021–22 batch.
Recently, NRI MBBS students of the 2021–22 batch, along with their parents, met the TTD Executive Officer, m Ravichandra, and submitted a representation. They stated that, since the MBBS course lasts only 4½ years, the tuition fees should be collected accordingly. They also pointed out that fees were being collected for 5 years at SVIMS – Sri Padmavathi Women’s Medical College.

After examining the matter and reviewing the guidelines issued by the National Medical Commission on 07-04-2026, the TTD Executive Officer decided that tuition fees for the NRI MBBS course should be collected only for 4½ years.
Steps will be taken to place this decision before the SVIMS Executive Body meeting for discussion and to obtain necessary ratification.
As the 2021–22 batch students are currently in their final year, this decision will be implemented for them with immediate effect. The same policy will also be applicable to future batches
