RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, APRIL 08, 2026: An Alumni Meet was organised at Government Degree and PG College, Gambhiraopet, under the leadership of Principal Prof. V Vijayalakshmi and Alumni Coordinator J. Shravan Kumar. Around 25 alumni participated in the meeting and shared their experiences on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Vijayalakshmi stated that alumni play a crucial role in the development of the college and advised them to act as guides and mentors for the present students. “Alumni are the brand value of any institution and their experience also inspires entrepreneurship. The students should get guidance from the alumni who have the experience and exposure,” she said.
Alumni President Dosala Shankar mentioned that compared to the facilities available during their time, the college now has significantly improved infrastructure. He encouraged students to utilize these facilities effectively and strive for higher career achievements.
Alumnus Ch. Ravi shared that during their time, there were very limited facilities, such as faculty, library, and laboratories. Despite these challenges, he worked hard and is now serving as a Junior College Lecturer, which reflects the strength of the institution. He is currently working as a Botany lecturer at the Government Junior College, Gambhiraopet.
Another alumnus, A. Brahmachari, who is working as a teacher in a Girls High School, emphasised that with proper utilisation of time, discipline, and determination, one can achieve anything.
All alumni members who attended the meeting collectively resolved to organise a grand alumni meet in July. The programme was attended by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college along with students.
