KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 13, 2026: The Two-Day National Seminar on Green Chemistry, organided by Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous) Karimnagar concluded successfully on Friday.
Addressing the valedictory session, D. Suresh Kumar, Controller of Examinations, Satavahana University, attended as the Chief Guest. He spoke on the importance of green fuels, their availability and the significant contributions being made by chemists towards their development. He also highlighted that the Two-Day National Seminar facilitated meaningful discussions on environmental issues and their possible solutions. He emphasised the need for organising more such seminars in the future.
As a Special Invitee, K. Surender Reddy, State General Secretary of TGCGTA, stated that in the present situation, where there is growing concern over pollution and environmental hazards, it is highly commendable that the faculty of the Department of Chemistry of Government Women’s College took the initiative to organize such a seminar. He congratulated the organisers for their efforts.

Shiva Naga Prasad, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC of India, Karimnagar, said that LIC is also playing its role in promoting environmental responsibility. He further observed that, in the current polluted environmental conditions, people are increasingly vulnerable to various diseases. Therefore, through its various life insurance schemes, LIC contributes towards ensuring that families continue to function securely and without disruption.
Prof. D. Varalakshmi, Principal of the college stated that organizing such seminars would help students focus more on current research developments and scientific advancements, thereby enhancing their academic and research outlook.
The seminar was attended by G. Srinivas Reddy, Convener of the Seminar, R. Mogili, Organising Secretary, Faculty members, students and others.
